History

In 2013, Telkom Institute of Management (IM Telkom) along with Telkom Institute of Technology (IT Telkom) and Telkom Polytechnic merged into Telkom University based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 270/0 / E / 2013 about the Merger of Telkom Polytechnic, Institute Telkom Technology, and Telkom Management Institute which organized by Telkom Education Foundation to be Telkom University where it is located in Bandung Regency, West Java and Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 309 / E / 0/2013 dated 14 August 2013 a Consolidation Permits. In the same year, Indonesian School of Art and Design (STISI) of Telkom is also merged with  Telkom University. Furthermore, Telkom Institute of Management transformed into the Faculty of Economics and Business.

In the following year, in accordance with the Decree of Telkom Education Foundation Board No. KEP0205 / 00 / DGA-02 / YPT / 2014 about Organizational Structure and Work Procedure of Telkom University, Faculty of Economics and Business was developed into two faculties, there are Faculty of Communication and Business ( FKB) and Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). Faculty of Communication and Business consists of Three Departments, namely the Business Administration Department, Communication Science Department, and Digital Public Relation Department.

Since its establishment, Telkom University has established its vision as follows:

“To be a world-class university that plays an active role in the development of information technology based on science and art.”

Telkom University’s vision was revealed to be the vision of the Faculty of Communication and Business as follow:

 “To be an international standard faculty in the field of Information Technology which based  on Communication and Business”

There are important keywords in the vision of universities and faculties, namely “world class” and “international standard”. The purpose of this statement is to ensure that Telkom University and Faculty of Communication and Business are eager to develop education with good standards and an internationally recognized by the quality reputation, especially in the current era of globalization that demands competitiveness in technology and human resources. The vision has the implications for creating graduates who are able to compete and collaborate globally, achieved by various businesses such as the procurement of international classes, student and lecturer exchanges, publications and international research cooperation and hosting conferences and international competitions.
